The building energy saving work has made rapid progress for more than 20 years, wherein the application of external insulation technology of building has made undeniable contributions. However, the fire accidents arisen from the external wall insulation materials around the world due to the application of organic materials in the building energy saving project occur constantly, which cause a big loss to the person and state property. For example, on February 9, 2009, a severe fire occurred in the CCTV Cultural Center under construction, a fire fighter died, many people were injured, and the direct economic loss was RMB 160000000. On February 3, 2011, a great fire occurs in the apartment located in Jiaozhou Road, Shanghai, 58 people died, 71 people were injured, and the direct economic loss was RMB 158000000. On August 21, 2014, the fire occurred in Xinjiang Hami Railway Station due to carelessly igniting the external wall insulation material in the operation process of construction unit; and on June 7, 2015, a big fire suddenly occurred from the external wall insulation material on the construction site of Xinjiang Aksu Xinglong Garden. The occurrence of the fire is related to the insulation material without exception. So, are there building materials capable of insulation and energy saving and fire protection and water resistance on earth? With this question, the reporter interviewed Ren Zenmao, leading talent of Gansu Province, vice president of Gansu Building Materials Academy, and professor level senior engineer.
The thermal insulation, fire protection and sound absorption of rock wool will certainly dominate the market
Ren Zenmao said that: the several great fire accidents occurring all over the world in recent years are related to the building external wall insulation material, therefore, the fire protection problem of insulation material attracts the high attention of people again. Currently, the materials adopted by the building external wall insulation include: silicate insulation material, adhesive polystyrene granule, steel wire mesh foam board and others, but their fireproof and environmental protection performance is not ideal. Since the implementation of national standard Code for Fire Protection Design of Buildings gb50016-2014, Class A materials have gradually occupied the mainstream position of insulation material, among which the rock wool stands out due its many advantages, such as insulation, thermal insulation, fire protection and sound absorption, and thus becomes the favorite of insulation material market.
The rock wool is a natural environmentally friendly fire-proof and environmentally friendly insulation material. Ren Zengmao told the reporter that: the rock wool is prepared by taking the natural rock and others as the main raw materials, adding a certain amount of auxiliary materials, making into artificial fiber through melting in high temperature and injection, and preparing the artificial fiber into the rock wool product. Now, the rock wool is largely used for the external wall insulation, fire protection and thermal insulation of building in China. In the late 1970s, the production of rock wool insulation materials and their application on building energy saving have begun to be emphasized at abroad, to strive to reduce the energy consumption substantially, and reduce the environmental pollution and greenhouse effect. Now, the application of rock wool insulation material on the overseas building external wall has been relatively matured, and the insulation material for building energy saving occupies the overwhelming majority. For example, more than 80% of rock wool in America, Sweden, Finland and other countries is used for building insulation and energy saving; and in Germany, it is be explicitly stipulated in the laws that, the organic combustible insulation materials (such as polystyrene material) are prohibited in the building with a height of more than 22m, and most of used rock wool is used as the material for internal wall insulation and sound insulation, and external wall and roof insulation. Currently, the rock wool has dominated the insulation material market due to its good performance on insulation, thermal insulation, fire protection and sound absorption, and environmentally friendly, economic and practical superiority, and is recognized as the ideal thermal insulation material at home and abroad.
Rock wool is the most ideal insulation material of building external wall and roof
Ren Zengmao told the reporter that: at present, many people see the rock wool with old views, thinking that the rock wool has high water absorption, low strength, discomfortable construction process and others, all of which are provided by the rock wool produced with sedimentation method twenty years ago. After the development for these years, the production process of rock wool has made dramatic change. The high-performance rock wool insulation board is the rock wool board for building with different volume weights and specifications by taking the selected natural rock as the main raw material, melting in high temperature, fiber forming with international advanced high-speed four-roll centrifuge, pulling the high-temperature melt of basalt into 4-7μm non-continuous fiber, and meanwhile, adding a certain amount of binder, anti-dust oil and water repellent, and carrying out the processes (such as collecting with drum-type wool collector, paving the wool with pendulum bob, pleating, pressing, curing and cutting).
Ren Zengmao told the reporter that: there are a few rock wool manufacturers in Gansu Province currently. It can be said without exaggeration that, the process technology of Hongsheng Rock Wool takes the leading position in domestic. With the wide application of pendulum bob method and the most advanced domestic three-dimensional process, Gansu Hongsheng Rock Wool thoroughly changes the detects of rock wool board ten years ago, such as loosing, dispersing, softness and water absorption, and thus, can be widely used in the energy saving and insulation projects of external walls of resident buildings and public buildings which are newly built, extended and rebuilt, so that the buildings have good features on insulation, fire protection, energy saving, noise reduction, air permeability and others. Therefore, the rock wool is the most ideal insulation material of building external wall and roof.
Ren Zengmao also elaborated the advantages of rock wool from the professional prospective: Class A incombustible insulation material has excellent fireproof performance, air permeability and thermal insulation performance, and has no corrosion on various components in the building; and moreover, it has higher physical property of sound absorption, noise reduction and elastic shock absorption, excellent hydrophobicity performance, and small quality moisture rate, and meanwhile, is light in weight, capable of cutting and sawing, and easy to construct.
